How to download a CSV
Our short steps. Menus change, so the company's own help page is the final word.
Bank of America: Checking and savings
- Sign in to Online Banking and open the checking or savings account.
- Open the transaction activity for the period you want.
- Choose Download, then the CSV format.
- Upload the file here. It stays in this browser.
Bank of America: Credit card
- Sign in to Online Banking and open the credit card account.
- Open the transaction activity for the period you want.
- Choose Download, then the CSV format.

Chase: Checking and savings
- Sign in to chase.com and open the checking account.
- Open Account activity.
- Choose the download icon, then CSV.
- Pick the date range, then upload the file here.
Chase: Credit card
- Sign in to chase.com and open the card account.
- Go to Statements & Documents, or open the account activity.
- Choose Download account activity, then CSV.
- Upload the file here. Purchases may show as positive amounts.
Wells Fargo: Checking and savings
- Sign in and open the account.
- Choose Download Account Activity.
- Pick Comma Delimited Format (.csv), then download.
- Upload the file here. Wells Fargo's CSV has no header row, so confirm the columns in the preview.
Citi: Credit card
- Sign in and open the card account.
- Go to Transactions and set the date filter.
- Choose the download icon, then CSV.
- Upload the file here. Card downloads may cover only the current statement cycle.
Capital One: Credit card
- Sign in and open the card account.
- Go to Statements & Documents and choose Download transaction.
- Choose CSV.
- Upload the file here. Check the columns in the preview.
American Express: Card
- Sign in and open the card's activity.
- Choose Download and export transactions.
- Pick CSV. This app does not read Quicken or QuickBooks files.
- Upload the CSV here. The download covers recent activity and recent statements.

Discover: Credit card
- Sign in and open the card account.
- Go to Activity & Statements.
- Choose Download, then CSV.
- Upload the file here. Check in the preview whether purchases show as positive amounts.
U.S. Bank: Checking, savings and cards
- Sign in and open the account under My Accounts.
- Go to the Activity tab, then Download.
- Choose Spreadsheet (.CSV).
- Upload the file here. U.S. Bank offers up to 18 months of history.

Apple Card: Credit card
- On card.apple.com, open Statements and choose Export Transactions.
- Pick the start and end dates, then CSV.
- Choose Export.
- Upload the file here. On iPhone you can also export from the Wallet app, one statement at a time.

PayPal: Account activity
- Sign in to paypal.com and open Activity.
- Choose the download option for the activity report.
- Pick the date range and CSV.
- Upload the file here. Fees and refunds appear as their own rows.

Venmo: Personal account
- Sign in to venmo.com and open Statements.
- Pick the month and year.
- Choose Download CSV. Each file covers one month.
- Upload the files here. You can add several months at once.

Cash App: Cash App account
- On a desktop browser, sign in to Cash App at cash.app.
- Open your account activity or statements.
- Look for an export option and choose CSV.
- Upload the file here. This export has not been checked against a real file, so confirm the preview.
YNAB (You Need A Budget): Budget plan export
- Export your plan data from YNAB. YNAB's help page explains the export.
- Choose CSV. Use TSV if your budget uses a comma as the decimal separator.
- Upload the file here.
- YNAB writes money out and money in to separate Outflow and Inflow columns, and the app reads both.

Monarch Money: Transactions export
- In Monarch, find the transaction download for one account or for all accounts.
- Choose CSV and download the file.
- Upload the file here. Monarch's dates are year-month-day.
- The export location is not confirmed, so check the preview before you continue.
Mint (closed by Intuit): Saved CSV exports
- Mint has closed, so this format only reads CSV files you saved before it closed.
- Upload the saved CSV here.
- Mint lists amounts as positive numbers and marks the direction in a Transaction Type column.
- Check the preview to confirm the columns.
Some banks only offer PDF or QFX/OFX statements. Use the CSV option; Lintroller does not read those.
